Bancroft Cruisers’ elegant sightseeing boat, the Rita Ellen, has moved location to the Bancroft Canal Basin in the centre of the UK’s jewel in the crown – Stratford upon Avon. The boat’s new home sees it moored next to several famous Stratford landmarks, including the world renowned Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the Gower memorial statue, which depicts characters from Shakespeare’s most well loved plays including Hamlet, Henry IV and Macbeth.
The vessel’s prime location also situates passengers in close proximity to Stratford’s main shopping area, where visitors can enjoy unique, individual shops and big name brands. And those keen to get a bite to eat in one of the quaint Elizabethan buildings which Stratford is known for, will be only a stone’s throw away from Stratford’s restaurant Mecca, Sheep Street.
Bancroft Cruisers Director John Filgate says: “The Rita Ellen is an elegant event cruiser with a fully licensed bar and galley. It’s ideal for enjoying a traditional English cream tea while listening to informative and interesting live commentary on the town in a heated, comfortable environment. Alternatively, it can also be used for private catered events including weddings and birthday celebrations.”
